Summary

His bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and computer science prepared him to work in GLP environment, keeping excellent documentation and having attention to detail, a key characteristic in IT support.  His recently acquired Master’s degree, MBA in Cloud Computing has added a business vision to his technical background.  MBA has empowered him with tools to analyze and understand the business perspective of the IT landscape.  His master’s dissertation allowed him to study other scholarly works done on Cloud Computing, understand its business value and best way to align with a business strategy to achieve competitive advantage.

Mr. Abedin possesses excellent social skills.  Many clients gave him the responsibility to formulate network, user policies: SOPs, writing training manuals, enforce network policies via GPO.  A Belbin test conducted during academic session at the Dublin Business School rated Mr. Abedin as an excellent team player.  He is admired by his peers and colleagues for his patience, caring, calm manner, ability to solve problems, perhaps at times persistent effort yet knowing when to implement alternate method, honesty and diligence.

Research Experience

Master’s Dissertation: How Cloud Computing is Changing Pathways to Competitive Advantage: a qualitative study conducted to observe and analyze how cloud computing is reshaping the competitive business landscape and what new approaches are being adopted to achieve sustainable advantage.  The work followed Saunders’ Research Onion Framework.  Primary data obtained via inductive mono method of interviews from industry experts.  Secondary data was obtained from critically reviewing scholarly sources. The comparison between the two validating some of the current business models but also revealed gaps in literature.  Post analysis revealed where cloud computing stands today and what options industries have to strategize their approach towards sustainable success.

MBA Teamwork Experience

A Contemporary Analytical Study of The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: CO): As a team leader conducted a study to understand Coca-Cola’s global management scheme, its marketing strategy, market entrance.  Quick ratio analysis of Coca-Cola’s published annual financial report and it’s comparison to rival Pepsi revealed company’s financial status and relation to consumers, stakeholders, financers.  In depth 4V, Input Transformational model studies of Coca-Cola’s operations revealed its efficiency and how Coca-Cola maintains its success.

 

Develop & Test Cloud Service: WordPress Development on the Cloud: Led a team to research different cloud vendors and test their platforms in order to understand what each vendor provided as a service, the loop holes in contracts, differences among different products.  As a test case, a WordPress site was developed to test different features of the cloud such as prototyping development, efficiency, reliability, cloud security, billings systems, backup systems, vendor responsibility. Amazon EC, Google and Microsoft Azure platforms were tested. The impact of social media (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) on business in the cloud and its opportunities were explored as well as testing the impact and developing strategy via google analytics, to promote site rating, content management, search engine optimization (SEO) that showed drastic impact on marketing, venturing into new territory and competitive rivalry in the cloud.
